Compassion and Choices of Indiana is sponsoring a Community Education Program on Medical Aid in Dying at Unitarian Universalist Church, 2910 E. Morgan Avenue, Evansville, Indiana, on Monday, October 16, 2017, at 6:00 P.M.
Medical aid in dying is a safe and trusted medical practice available only to terminally ill, mentally capable adults who have a prognosis of six months or less to live. They may request from their doctors a prescription for medication which he or she can choose to self-ingest to end unbearable suffering and to die peacefully. This medical practice is also known as death with dignity.
This free event is open to all community members to learn more about medical aid in dying and the efforts of Compassion and Choices to pass legislation allowing this option for all Hoosiers.
