NOTES FROM THE MINISTERIAL SEARCH COMMITTEE Many of you will recall filling out the congregational survey late last summer, an essential and involved prelude to our ongoing search for a new settled minister. For those members and regular friends who did not fill out the survey last year, we on the search committee would like to offer a second bite at the apple. That’s right, if you did NOT fill out the congregational survey in 2006, we would very much like to encourage you to approach one of the members of the Ministerial Search Committee so that you can fill one out this year. Your feedback via the congregational survey will provide invaluable information as we proceed with the ministerial search, not only for us as we learn how to best promote who we are as a congregation, but for any interested ministers wanting to discover all they can about ourselves and our church community. The committee members are: Susie Feingold, Joel Haffner, Ann Hanat, Hardin Rathgeber, Mark Rigney, and Meghan Tuley. Thank you in advance, and keep your eye out for more updates over the coming months. MINISTERIAL SEARCH COMMITTEE - UPDATE DU JOUR What do you love best about Evansville? What is your favorite activity, location, or area restaurant?
What can you drive to from here that's just absolutely fabulous in,
say, an hour? DOODs
Have you seen anyone wearing a stained glass "DOOD" sign? "DOOD" stands for "Director Officially On Duty" - each Sunday, a member of the Board of Directors is our "DOOD", getting the church ready, answering questions, being a presence. Thanks to all of our "DOODS"! THANK YOU!
A big THANK YOU to InSuk Granholm and Lauren Talley who agreed to co-chair the Membership Committee. Some of the duties falling under this committee are caring, greeters, education, and connection. VOLUNTEERS are needed for these areas to help keep our congregation vibrant. Contact them to find out how you can help. IT’S NOT TOO LATE! Fall Festival is the week of October 1-6, 2007. If you have not signed up to help yet please contact Mary Helen Weldy. We need everyone’s help to make this a successful fundraiser! Besides, it’s a great way to get to know your fellow UU’s better! GREETERS NEEDED As the Greeter Coordinator, I need your help in making sure that there are smiling faces to greet newcomers and good friends alike on Sunday mornings before church. The goal is to have two greeters for every Sunday. You don't have to get there super early, just by about 9:40 or so. For a complete job description and to sign up, see me, Lauren Talley, in church or contact me via phone or email (xgj36@hotmail.com). Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you! COFFEE Fair Exchange coffee order forms are available in the foyer or contact Chris Norrington at cnorrington@hotmail.com. Please place your order by the 25th of each month.
