OWL Gr 4-5

OWL 4-5 Parent Letter

OWL 4-5 Registration Form

This year, the UUCE will offer the class Our Whole Lives (OWL): Sexuality Education for Grades 4 and 5 (ages 9-11). The program will be offered in (8) one-hour sessions, beginning in January at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Evansville, 2910 East Morgan Avenue.

This course is part of a secular lifespan sexuality education program developed for use by Unitarian Universalists, the United Church of Christ, and in secular settings, which has received acclaim from both parents and participants alike. The OWL program is a values-based sexuality education program that embodies UU values, including the dignity of the individual, the importance of personal responsibility, and the essential interdependence of all people. Other OWL curriculum has been developed for youth in grades K-1, grades 7-9, grades 10-12, and adults. The UUCE OWL Team can offer OWL courses for varying age groups, in order to provide the most opportunity for our congregation’s youth.

Parents who are interested in having their child(ren) participate in OWL should attend the Parent Meeting on Sunday, November 13 at 3:00pm in the church sanctuary. Ashley Perkins and Nancy Higgs will describe the program and answer questions. Advance registration and signed parental consent forms will be collected. *Child care will be provided for the Parent Meeting.*
